The Guest Room Makeover
Look what Shana and Mariah pulled off!
With $1,600 and a few days of work, they turned a plain guest room into a cozy, multifunctional space complete with a Murphy bed and custom cabinetry. 🛋️✨
A simple idea, some careful planning, a little elbow grease, and the room now works beautifully for family, guests, and everyday life 💪🏡🌟
Tools and Materials
Safety gear – Gloves, safety glasses, mask, Tyvek suit
Measuring & marking tools – Pencil, ruler, triangle square, graph paper
Power saws – Table saw, miter saw, circular saw, jigsaw
Drilling & fastening tools – Drill, drill bits, hole saw, screwdrivers, Torx & Phillips bits
Nailing & clamping tools – Pin nailer, air compressor, clamps, saw horses
Finishing tools – Palm sander, paint sprayer, sandpaper
Plywood & lumber – 3/4” & 1/4” plywood sheets, 1x2, 1x4, and furring strips, dowel rod
Hardware & fasteners – Screws (various sizes), Kreg screws, finish nails, Murphy bed hardware kit, cabinet hinges
Paint & finishing supplies – Primer, paint, caulk, knobs, trim, crown molding, drop cloths, painter’s tape
